Sorry it’s been so long since we’ve  posted. I have no excuse besides the fact that life has been crazy (with all great things). Now that Easter is over, we are fully prepared for Spring to hit us full force! We are totally inspired by the brilliant styling of the Dietlind Wolf. We hope this brightens your day!

We are loving the idea of decorating with modern geometric shapes, but sometimes feel like it can be a little too trendy. Using softer colors, and smaller amounts of geometric elements can add modernism to a space without making it feel like a spaceship. 

At PAPER PLAYNE, we are print people all the way. So you can imagine our joy when we found these images of some of the most beautiful school libraries around the world. We’re loving these prints by Matthew Korbel Bowers. The composition and color palettes are interesting and simple. The perfect prints for a Sunday afternoon!

It’s officially November and that means it’s time to bust out the sweaters! Ladies, we know you want your man-friend looking really good this fall so we definitely recommend grabbing him a sweater that will keep him warm and make him look put-together. DK has gathered some of his own personal favorites to inspire you. Just think…you could look just like the couple pictured below (you in a fun fur vest and him in a comfy neutral sweater). Oh and if you’re really into creating a modern look, pick him up a big scarf as well. We highly recommend Commonwealth scarves. They are soft, simple and you can throw them in the wash! (forget hard-to-deal with cashmere…cotton Commonwealths are all you need).

I discovered LAYERxLAYER yesterday at the Brooklyn Flea Market and immediately became obsessed with their work. The quality of design and construction is far better than anything I have found recently (even in retail stores). I love how unique and interesting the design is. Here is a small snippet from them, “LAYERXLAYER is the collaborative studio founded by Patrick & Leah. So far as LxL, we have made accessories, furniture and a few random objects – that is just the beginning. We approach every project as a learning experience and are more interested in discovering the solution, rather than imposing our own tastes or opinions upon the design problem.” Visit their awesome site here.

It’s already been a hectic week and it’s only Tuesday! So, as a result of the chaos we wanted to find images that feel calm and inviting. We hope that these help you to be still for a moment and daydream about cozy places with fresh air and warm light.

Aerin Lauder has launched a new brand and her NY offices are quite glamorous. Here’s a snippet about the design, “In this case, Grange started with a layer of crisp sea-grass carpeting throughout, allowing the isolated bursts of color he subsequently added—whether a sky-blue cocktail table or a modern artwork—to pop all the more. Scattered with a restrained mix of modern and classic furniture, the office resembles a very sophisticated apartment that has suddenly been overrun with a clutch of stylesetters on a fevered, if undisclosed, mission.”

These color collages by Warby Parker are sooo cool! We love all of the items that they gathered to promote their new line of limited edition glasses. From the rock candy to the vintage book of whale insults, you can tell they put a lot of time and energy into creating unique and interesting compositions. 

Happy 4th everyone! We wanted to take the non-traditional route and blog about furniture instead of the usual independence day hullabaloo. These chairs from Muller van severen would  perfect for lounging and drinking white wine all day. We wish we owned them all!

We’re total suckers for dreamy photography. Even with the over-saturated market (thanks instagram), we still find ourselves pining over images that have been filtered to death. Check out some of our latest favs.
