We just stumbled upon the DIY section on IKEA’s blog and we are loving some of their posts! The stacked wooden boxes and the striped pots are our favorites!! Check out more here.

I discovered LAYERxLAYER yesterday at the Brooklyn Flea Market and immediately became obsessed with their work. The quality of design and construction is far better than anything I have found recently (even in retail stores). I love how unique and interesting the design is. Here is a small snippet from them, “LAYERXLAYER is the collaborative studio founded by Patrick & Leah. So far as LxL, we have made accessories, furniture and a few random objects – that is just the beginning. We approach every project as a learning experience and are more interested in discovering the solution, rather than imposing our own tastes or opinions upon the design problem.” Visit their awesome site here.

Aerin Lauder has launched a new brand and her NY offices are quite glamorous. Here’s a snippet about the design, “In this case, Grange started with a layer of crisp sea-grass carpeting throughout, allowing the isolated bursts of color he subsequently added—whether a sky-blue cocktail table or a modern artwork—to pop all the more. Scattered with a restrained mix of modern and classic furniture, the office resembles a very sophisticated apartment that has suddenly been overrun with a clutch of stylesetters on a fevered, if undisclosed, mission.”
